July 17, 2007RISE TO ADDICTION — the British band featuring former BLAZE members John Slater (guitar) and Steve Wray (guitar) — has confirmed final details for its upcoming appearances at the Motonalet festival in the Czech Republic and the Bloodstock festival in the U.K.
The group make its first ever appearance in the Czech Republic on August 4 at the Motonalet festival, Nikolcice, Czech Republic. Said to be the largest motorcycle festival in the country, Motonalet features an eclectic mix of the countries top artists. RISE TO ADDICTION will be appearing on the main stage and are scheduled to perform at 23.00 hrs.
RISE TO ADDICTION's performance at the Bloodstock festival has been confirmed for the main stage at 12.00hrs on August 18. Other bands appearing on the same day include IN FLAMES and ARCH ENEMY. The festival takes place at Catton Hall, Near Lichfield between August 16 and August 18.
RISE TO ADDICTION released its debut album, "A New Shade of Black for the Soul", on May 14 in the U.K., May 18 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and May 21 in the rest of Europe via the legendary Belgian metal label Mausoleum Records.
"A New Shade of Black for the Soul" (view artwork at this location) was produced by Andy Sneap (MACHINE HEAD, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TRIVIUM, MEGADETH). Always willing to push musical boundaries, RISE TO ADDICTION enlisted the help of avant-garde pianist Mike Garson on one of the songs. Mike, who is known for his work with greats such as DAVID BOWIE, SMASHING PUMPKINS and NINE INCH NAILS, wrote and recorded the piano interlude for the song "Fessonia".
RISE TO ADDICTION, whose music is described as a distinctive modern sound with melody and slab heavy riffing, released its self-titled EP in 2005 through Madman Records. Also produced by Andy Sneap, it featured three tracks — "Falling as One", "Everlasting Wave", "To a God Unknown" — and also included the promo video for the EP's opening track.
